Streetmosphere in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Streetmosphere in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Disney
Walt Disney World has many secrets and surprises, quite often this is what people refer to as part of the Disney 'magic'. They may not all appear on park schedules though, and sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time. One of these little surprises are the Streetmosphere actors, who are found primarily in the Magic Kingdom and at Disney's Hollywood studios (the latter being a topic for a future post!). These colourful Streetmosphere characters 'live' on Main Street and can sometimes be found mingling with guests. They are not guaranteed to be in attendance so it's just down to luck whether you'll bump into these local residents. There's the Honorable Christopher George Weaver - Mayor of Main Street, who is sometimes accompanied by his wife, the Lady Ma...
Disney’s Vero Beach: Exploring the Florida coast

Disney’s Vero Beach: Exploring the Florida coast

Disney, Hotels
Along with it's theme parks, Florida is famous for having miles and miles of beautiful beaches and with it's long thin shape you're never more than 60 minutes drive away from the coast. Disney's Vero Beach resort Located on the Atlantic coast about 2 hours drive from Orlando and you'll find a much quieter and calmer experience than you'll receive if you were staying in one of the Walt Disney World resorts. I'm obviously a central Florida junkie, but even I like to escape from tourist-centric nature of the area for a change of pace. Disney's Vero Beach is an ideal distance away - far enough for it to feel like a different world in both scenery and atmosphere from Orlando, but still close enough for it to be an easy drive. It can even be done in a day visit if you like. The archi...
Epcot Flower and Garden Festival 2015: Did you say food?

Epcot Flower and Garden Festival 2015: Did you say food?

Disney
I make little secret of the fact that my favourite park at Walt Disney World is Epcot so it should be no surprise that I also try to coincide my visits to when the park is hosting one of it's festivals; the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival in spring, and the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival in the autumn. This time next week the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival will already be welcoming visitors when it begins on March 4th (through to May 17th). Alas I won't be one of them, but I'll definitely be there in spirit. You can pretty much guess the theme of the festival from it's name, but a couple of years ago they began to include 'Outdoor Kitchens'. These are little kiosks selling sampler portions of food and drink. When I saw these in action last year I thou...
La Cava del Tequila Review: the best Margaritas in Epcot?

La Cava del Tequila Review: the best Margaritas in Epcot?

Disney, Florida Review
I will take any opportunity I can to talk about La Cava del Tequila on Epcot's World Showcase, a cosy bar that's well known for it's Margaritas. I'll admit to being a fangirl. I am always on the hunt for good quality places to eat, drink or escape the heat in while on holiday at Walt Disney World. If I can do all three at once then even better. Fortunately Epcot can deliver the goods in a few of their World Showcase niche bars and restaurants, La Cava del Tequila is one of them (Spice Road Table is another).   La Cava del Tequila Review   This bustling little bar oozes its own unique character. I love how it's tucked away in a corner of the cool and dimly lit Mexico pavilion, I've noticed many people walk past the simple unassuming doorway without realising what lie...
